Since August 2006, I have written a weekly anime/manga themed column at Mania.com (formerly Cinescape.com) called The American Otaku, as well as written the occasional review for the website.

I wrote for Seven Seas Entertainment two features for their "Ultimate Guide" series, covering Kashimashi (Dec. 06) and Venus Versus Virus (Feb. 07), which serve as an overview of the franchises for newcomers, in promotion of the respective manga series.

I have interviewed for Seven Seas Entertainment various manga writers and artists, showcased on Gomanga.com in promotion of their upcoming manga releases: artist of Speed Racer, Elmer Damaso (Nov. 06); artist of Dead Already, Michael Shelfer (Jul. 06); artist of Aoi House and Amazing Agent Luna, Shiei (Jun. 06); writer of Freerunners, Bill Straus (Jun. 06); writer of The Outcast, Vaun Wilmott (May 06); writers of Amazing Agent Luna and Destiny's Hand, Nunzio DeFilippis and Christina Weir (Apr. 06); artist of Captain Nemo, Aldin Viray (Mar. 06); artist of No Man's Land and Freerunners, Jennyson Rosero (Mar.06), and the writer and artist of Inverloch, Sarah Ellerton (Feb. 06).

I wrote articles for Animefringe: Online Anime Magazine from February 2004 to December 2005 under my maiden name (Janet Crocker). Started in January 2000, Animefringe is a monthly web magazine centered around anime, manga, and the American otaku lifestyle. Feature articles focus on a specific title or series in general, while reviews are about an individual product. Reviews are also more critical than features. Specials include convention reports, editorials, and articles that don't fit well under the label of being a feature. Additionally, I wrote replies for Animefringe's Mail Desk segment, with a little help from fellow staff writers, since December 2004.

In January 2004, Animefringe introduced a section called Manga Shorts, which consisted of short reviews for manga volumes that would be otherwise left uncovered in our issues. This feature became one of the magazine's most popular pages, so we expanded it in 2005 to create Anime Briefs, which served the same function as Manga Shorts, except with anime DVD volumes.
